    • Description: The Haitian Alliance Nurses Association International (HANA-I) will host its historic 1st Annual Haitian American Nurses Day on Capitol Hill to address health equities that continues to affect black and brown communities

  2. ISU Space Café presents Voyager Space Chief Revenue Officer - Clay Mowry (6PM - 8PM) (FREE!)

    • Description: Mr. Mowry is also the Chairman of the International Astronautical Federation and will talk about space stations.

  3. J-Film | What Did You Eat Yesterday? (6:30PM - 8:30PM) (FREE!)

    • Description: In this cinematic adaptation of the award-winning TV show of the same name, the talented UCHINO Seiyo and NISHIJIMA Hidetoshi return to reprise their roles. The two portray a couple who treasure both their time together and their daily meals –which are lovingly prepared by Kakei (NISHIJIMA) and enjoyed by Yabuki (UCHINO).

  4. Book Lecture: Montesquieu's The Spirit of the Laws: A Critical Text (5PM - 6PM) ($0 - $1,000) 📕 

    • Book Description: In the struggle to adopt the US Constitution, the philosopher Montesquieu’s book, Spirit of the Laws, was frequently cited by both proponents and opponents of ratification. Highly regarded at the time of America’s founding, this 1748 masterpiece has fallen into unjust neglect which Professor Allen’s fresh translation and commentary should do much to rectify.

  5. Washington Bach Consort Performance (7:30PM - 9PM) ($48) 🎵 

    • Description: Led by Artistic Director Dana Marsh and featuring their star soprano Amy Broadbent, the Consort brings a program centered around cantatas for solo soprano and strings by Barbara Strozzi and Francesca Caccini, two of the “under-sung” female composers of the Baroque period, accentuated by Bach and Handel arias for soprano as well as interludes of instrumental excellence for which the Consort is so well-known.

    • Description: The Blood of a Poet (Le Sang d'un Poète), the first part of Jean Cocteau’s Orphic Trilogy, is considered one of the finest surrealist films ever made. Cocteau wrote that his film marks “a descent into oneself . . . a kind of half-sleep through which I wandered as though in a labyrinth.”
