    • Description: You may remember Brazilian musician Rodrigo Amarante from when he opened for Marisa Monte at the Filene Center in 2023. Others might recognize his song “Tuyo,” which became the opening theme for Netflix’s Narcos and earned Amarante an Emmy nomination. But you definitely won’t forget him after his debut at The Barns when Amarante shares tracks from his most recent album Drama.

    • Description: The 54th Annual Mister & Miss Howard University Caribbean Students' Association Pageant is the prime programming event for HUCSA at Howard University, which celebrates the brilliance behind Caribbean history and heritage.

  1. Bach's Passions and the Easter Story in Art (12PM - 1PM) (FREE!) 🎨 

    • Description: Senior lecturer, David Gariff, explores the powerful attraction of the story of the Passion of Christ for the composer and western artists. In Bach’s St. John and St. Matthew Passions, as well as in countless depictions in paintings and film, the drama of the Passion has served as an inspiration for profound musical and visual storytelling.

  2. HOLI FESTIVAL: DUPONT CIRCLE AND THE VEN (1PM - 5PM) (FREE!) 🎉 

    • Description: The Holi Festival is a Hindu holiday that celebrates the end of winter and ushers in spring – celebrating color, love and spring. Dupont Circle is a unique neighborhood with 40 embassies, and the Dupont Circle BID are glad to partner with the Embassy of India for this event.

  3. The Moon Has Risen Film Screening (2PM - 3:45PM) 📽️ 

    • Description: This delightful romantic comedy is based on a screenplay cowritten by Yasujiro Ozu and, like Tokyo Story and other films he directed, is a touching portrait of family dynamics in postwar Japan. It is Kinuyo Tanaka’s second feature film as a director.

    • Description: The Washington International Young Artists Music Series offers a significant public service music event, for patrons of classical music.
