  1. The New Geometry of Global Trade and International Relations Lecture (4:30PM - 6:30PM) (FREE!)

    • Description: This event will feature a discussion with Ray Brimble and Alyssa Ayres, Dean of the Elliott School of International Affairs focusing on "The New Geometry of Global Trade and International Relations."

  3. ISU Space Café with Airbus US Chief Innovation Officer - Russ Matijevich Lecture (6PM - 8PM) (FREE!) 🚀 

    • Description: Russ “Mr Wizard” Matijevich is the Chief Innovation Officer for Airbus US Space & Defense, Inc. He is the senior executive leading Airbus US research and technology development, modelling and simulation, cross-organization process improvements, and curates the company’s technology investment roadmap in support of all Airbus US lines of business.

  4. Citizen Diplomacy: The Role of the Individual in Foreign Affairs Film Screening (6:30PM - 8:30PM) (FREE!) 📽️ 

    • Description: The International Student House of Washington, DC, in partnership with the Public Diplomacy Council of America, invites you for this special event that will include a screening of the new PBS documentary Citizen Diplomacy.   2. Curator-Led Tour | Staging the Supernatural: Ghosts and the Theater in Japanese Prints (12PM - 1PM) (FREE!) 🎨 

    • Description:  Join us for a curator tour led by Kit Brooks, the museum's Japan Foundation Assistant Curator of Japanese Art, and Frank Feltens, the museum's curator of Japanese art, of the special exhibition Staging the Supernatural: Ghosts and the Theater in Japanese Prints.

  3. New Books in Asian Studies (NBAS): "The Ripple Effect: China’s Complex Presence in Southeast Asia" Book Talk (4PM - 5:30PM)(FREE!) 📕 

    • Book Description: In The Ripple Effect, Enze Han argues that a focus on the Chinese state alone is not sufficient for a comprehensive understanding of China's influence in Southeast Asia. Instead, we must look beyond the Chinese state, to non-state actors from China, such as private businesses and Chinese migrants.

  2. Sakura Taiko Fest at Sylvan Theater (12PM - 5PM) (FREE!) 🎵 🌸 

    • Description:  The Sakura Taiko Fest has grown from a small concert first held in a dance studio to a full day of free, family-friendly taiko performances in downtown DC. Each year, we welcome a number of North American taiko groups and feature a variety of different taiko styles as a celebration of Japanese-American cultural and artistic traditions.
