International Embassy and Cultural Events in Washington DC (February 20th - February 26th)
Embassy Life in DC Newsletter #1
A Quick Word Before We Start?
Welcome to the first installment of the Embassy Life in DC newsletter! I am super excited to dive right in and begin rattling off the details about all of the international embassy and cultural events that are happening between Monday, February 20th, 2023 - Sunday, February 26th, 2023. However, before we do that, we should note down a couple of items:
Since this is a weekly newsletter, I will be providing general information that I found while surfing the web with each week time period as we go by.
I cannot find ALL of the international events in DC, so if I miss one I am terribly sorry! (on the other hand, if you want to add an event to my Google Calendar link down below, send me an email about it!).
I will try to get out the weekly newsletter each Monday of the month (if I can with time constraints and just enjoying life to begin with). If I do not get out the issue by Monday, typically I will do a week time period starting from whichever day I begin with.
Please do note that this is a one-man operation (I do this in my free time because I enjoy the international aspect of life that DC brings to me and I want to provide value with the DC community as much as possible).
In addition, I am still learning how to do the newsletter, social media platforms, and the whole thing as I can go along. This may result in an imperfect product at first, however, just bear with me and let us grow on this journey together!
Got it? Great! Keep reading then!
How Will You Share Information?
Great question! The answer of how I will share information about which international events are going on is through a combination of two tools:
My handy-dandy and publicly available Google Calendar (https://calendar.google.com/calendar/u/0?cid=ZW1iYXNzeWxpZmVpbmRjQGdtYWlsLmNvbQ)
A summary of events through this Beehiiv newsletter tool
I try as best as I can to keep it up to date, however, it can be arduous task classifying all of the international embassy and cultural events on a consistent timely basis. If I miss one event , I am sorry but I am only human (unless ChatGPT is writing these words…).
How Does Your Google Calendar Work?
Another great question! Let us use this week as a time period as an example:
Week of Monday, February 20th - Sunday, February 26th
The reason why I am showing you the calendar is to illustrate the three sources of information that I pull events from:
Eventbrite: (https://www.eventbrite.com/d/dc--washington/international/)
International Club of DC: (https://www.internationalclubdc.com/)
Things To Do DC: (https://thingstododc.com/events/embassy-culture/)
In short, this Google Calendar and newsletter serves as a repository to help you find which events are happening during a week time period. I search through the three above websites to log and compile said information.
Just Tell Us The Events Already!
Alright! Jeez, I was just explaining how everything worked. However, here are the list of international events happening from Monday, February 20th, 2023 to Sunday, February 26th, 2023:
